With the grace and blessings of Lord Shri Ram, Shri Ramlila Prachar Samiti, Malad, was formed on Independence Day in 1982 by Shri Devkinandan Jindal, Late Shri Radheshyam Gupta, Late Shri Purshottamdas Moda, Late Shri Atmaram Agarwal, Late Shri Dayaram Bhoot, Late Shri Satyanarayan Gupta, and Late Shri Sitaram Gupta.

The first Ramlila Mahotsav was performed during Navratri in 1982 at Thakur Laxmi Singh Compound, Opp Sunder Nagar, S. V. Road, Malad West. The event received immense appreciation and applause from the devotees. After few years, the Ramlila Mahotsav was shifted to Shivaji Raje Sports Ground, Jakaria Road, Malad West, since than continues to be performed every year till today with great devotion and enthusiasm.

The Ramlila was first performed by the group of Shri Rajesh Rastogi, Ram Manas Manch, in 1982. Remarkably, the same group continues to perform the Ramlila till today, preserving the tradition, spirit, and authenticity of the event. The Malad Ramlila is widely appreciated for its powerful performances, devotional atmosphere, and its grand & huge, beautifully designed stage, with the changing times The Malad Ramlila has adopted new technology by playing background graphics on wide LED Screen. which remains one of its major attractions.

Over the years, the Ramlila organized by Shri Ramlila Prachar Samiti, Malad, has become a milestone not only in Mumbai but across Maharashtra. During the ten days of the Ramlila festival, the entire atmosphere of Malad is filled with the divine chants of Ram Naam. Today, the venue is popularly known as the Ramlila Ground, attracting a large gathering of devotees and people from all sections of society. The crowd is so overwhelming that even the spacious ground often feels too small.

With the dedicated efforts of the committee members, the blessings and support of well-wishers, and the wholehearted participation of the devoted people of Malad, the Malad Ramlila has achieved great success and continues to grow every year.
In addition to organizing the Ramlila, On the day of Ganesh Visarjan Shri Ramlila Prachar Samiti distributes free Vapa-Pav, Puri Bhaji & Drinking Water to Ganesh devotees at Marve Road, Malad.
